Fair terms
These are fourteen promises we make to everyone who uses Starhold Render. We wrote them down so you can hold us to them. If we ever break one, that is a bug, and we want to hear about it.
-
F1: No dark patterns
No pre-ticked boxes, no confirm-shaming, no countdowns, no fake scarcity, no hidden fees and no maze of "are you sure?" screens on cancel or delete. A button says what it does.
-
F2: Your email, and nothing else
Free signup asks for an email address and nothing more: no name, company, card or phone. We use the email to send your login link and notices about your quota, billing and security. We send no marketing mail and no newsletter.
-
F3: No credits that expire
There are no prepaid credits. Each plan is a monthly allowance, stated as one. Nothing you buy can expire.
-
F4: No surprise charges, no auto-upgrade
When you reach your allowance, renders stop with a clear error. We never bill more and never move you to a higher plan. A plan only changes when you click.
-
F5: Cancel in one click, prorated
One Cancel button on your dashboard ends the plan at once and refunds the unused part of the month pro rata. You drop to Free immediately. One confirmation screen shows the refund amount. No retention offer.
-
F6: One public price list
The pricing page lists every plan with its price, allowance and limits. There is no enterprise tier, no quote form and no hidden price.
-
F7: A free tier you can use
Free is 50 renders a month on all three endpoints, with all options. Free output carries a small watermark on OG images, PDFs and screenshots. Paid plans never do.
-
F8: Your content is not logged or kept
We do not log or store the pages, HTML or images you render beyond a cache of at most 24 hours. Logs and usage records hold no page content, no URL paths or queries and no parameter values.
-
F9: No trackers
No analytics scripts, pixels, tag managers, third-party fonts or CDN scripts on any page. Everything we serve comes from our own host, and our content security policy enforces it.
-
F10: Export and delete, yourself
Download your data as JSON, or delete your account, from the dashboard. Deleting cancels and refunds any plan first, then erases your account.
-
F11: Plain English
Short sentences, no legalese where plain words work, and a short summary at the top of each legal page.
-
F12: Hard limits, clear errors
Over a limit, you get a 4xx error with a code, a sentence naming the limit and its value, and a link to the docs. We never quietly lower quality or resolution. Everyone shares the same render queue, with no paid priority. Where a result is cut short (for example a full-page screenshot over 16,384 px) the response says so in a header.
-
F13: Very inexpensive
Four plans from $0 to $49 a month: Free, Hobby at $5, Pro at $19 and Scale at $49. $49 is the top.
-
F14: We show what a render costs us
The pricing page publishes how we work out what a render costs, the measured number once we have it, and the margin on each plan.
